I didn't think I was a particularly stressed person. I mean, if you think that solving conflicts with a fight or having to shout out loud to make your point is the normal way to go.
As years went by, I become an expert in people pleasing, the art to say, do and act according to what (you think) people expect you to, so as to make sure you'll receive their love and attention from them.
No matter what you personally think about it.
In terms of organizational skills, my main strategy was multitasking until exhaustion. That was my own way to feel productive. Wait, isn't this what you do too ?
I've always thought the key of productivity was to launch as many project ideas as I'd come up to, and try to move them forward whenever I had time for it. Jumping from a task to another made me feel productive, even though I wasn't actually completing any.
I was addicted to to-do lists and scared of emptiness at the same time. So I kept growing them.
As the adage says "I do, so I am".

Did you say EMOTIONS ? Never heard of that... before my actual Yoga Teacher Training in 2014, at the age of 27.
I mean I knew what they were, and if I sit for a minute I would probably remember feeling one or two.
The way I use to deal with my emotions ? Trying hard to suppress them as they'd come up to me, and reacting without any sort of filter (sad & silent at times, shouting loud at others). Never asking for forgiveness.
Without even realizing it, I was building up a huge amount of stress. Emotional stress.
Eventually all this led me to a state where :
❌ I was thinking all the time, having a hard time turing my mind off
❌ Was totally disorganized
❌ Easily distracted, searching for easy source of instant pleasure (food, games...)
❌ Multitasking made me enter a frenetic operating mode that wasn't really nurishing my projects
❌ I was being easily irritated in my relationships
❌ Thinking I had to people please all the time : giving them what (I thought) they want to make sure I'd receive love and attention from them
❌ My creativity was drifting away - my precious gift ! - I wasn't tapping into it anymore
❌ Occasional headhaches
❌ Bowel disturbance - What direct link does this even have with stress ?!
❌ I kept being tired during the day, and having hard time going to sleep at night 🔄🤯
❌ Less physical performance at work out activities
❌ Tendancy to get hurt more easily by loss of attention regarding that furniture angle...
And guess what ? I didn’t even realize I wasn’t the only one in this situation.
Throughout my professional life, as a Non-profit employee, wellness practitioner and even now as a trainer and coach, I’ve seen so many positive change-makers struggle with stress, mostly focused on trying to make an impact on the outer world.
Like many of them, I could feel stress, but I thought that was a normal situation (I mean society ditctates us to be on the run all the time, so it felt overall normal to me !).
I just didn't have the keys to change this situation, and restore my stress back to physiological levels.
So at some point, I decided to study more those topics. I was already a Yoga instructor and my practice got me to better connect to the sensations of my body. But I wanted evidence-based research to tell me what was going on in my body.
Here are the 3 main take aways I have learnt.

I then kept studying professionally to eventually become a certified Naturopath (non-medical well-being balance practicionner), speciaIized in Stress management, sleep problems and overall digestive troubles.
I got to understand the physiological implications of :
✅ the central role of our Autonomic Nervous System when it comes to manage our stress
✅ the collateral symptoms related to a hyperactivation of the sympathetic nervous system (like sleep troubles, digestive problems, etc.) and how to reduce them.
✅ Numerous efficient anti-stress techniques to biohack the body and mind back to physiological levels of stress.
There was no way I could keep all this knowledge and content for myself.
